A "Champagne Expert" at 9 years of age

by Gwen
(Santa Clara, California, U.S.)

When our son was 9 years old, my husband and I took him with us on a trip to Napa Valley. We went to the Domaine Chandon winery and we took the tour of the cellar. Our son was paying close attention to the explanation about how champagne is made.

After the tour, we went to the terrace to have some champagne. After our glass of champagne, my husband and I decided to stay longer because the day was beautiful. But our son was getting a little bit bored, so he decided to go on the next tour.

After that tour, he decided to go on the next one. By the third time around, he was well versed in the Methode Champenoise. At this point, the tour guide started to wonder who was this kid that was the biggest fan he had ever had. This is how my son became a champagne expert at 9 years of age.

Great Story

What a great story and also a self education for your son. Inspiring to hear about a youngster that has an interest. Sounds also like a future entrepreneur. Thanks for sharing.

A great website also!
